Store CodePlex Credentials

You are annoyed with entering your CodePlex username and password, each time when you open your Visual Studio, if CodePlex is set as your default TFS? Me too.

Luckily, there is a simple trick which helps you: Windows Credentials Manager.

Open the Windows Credentials Manager (Control Panel –> User Accounts –> Manage your credentials), and add (at least) TWO Windows Credentials in your Windows Vault:

tfs.codeplex.com –> your username and password

yourproject.codeplex.com –> your username and password.

If you have more than one project on the CodePlex, add them respectively in the Credentials manager.

Something like this:

WindowsCredentialsCodePlex

And voila – no annoying prompts anymore Smile
