I have just tried to install the new Microsoft Office 2013, and got the beautiful message:<\/p>\n

I did have the Office 2013 Preview, but I have uninstalled it completely, including language packs and such. So what the heck is the problem here?<\/p>\n

And, in God\u2019s name, what is \u201cMicrosoft Professional Plus 2013<\/strong>\u201d?!<\/p>\n

Whatever. Such a program definitely did not exist in my Programs and Features list, so I needed to look deeper. If you come across the same (or similar) problem, here is the resolution:<\/p>\n

In Windows Explorer, go to the \u201cC:WindowsInstaller\u201d folder<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Right-click on the header row, and click on \u201cMore\u201d to see more columns.<\/p>\n

<\/a> <\/p>\n

Find the column \u201cSubject\u201d and include it in in header row:<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Sort on the Subject column \u2013 and find your problematic application. There is also my \u201cMicrosoft Professional Plus\u201d. Right-click it and uninstall.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it. Reboot might be needed, though.<\/p>\n
