One of the important developers conferences in Europe, Microsoft Windays, is traditionally being held in a beautiful Croatian coast town of Opatija (April 20-24th 2009).
It is primarily a developers and architects conference, although this year there is a business part too, called "Windays Business". Well, I’ll be at a tech part ๐
My session this time is about MOSS 2007 and EAI. We can, without thinking twice over it, say that Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) has never had a greater importance in the companies. ERP and LOB applications, SQL Server, Microsoft Excelโฆ those applications are just a small part of the software landscape used on the daily in the companies.
I’ll show in a live demo an example of the ERP and MOSS 2007 bidirectional integration, as well as BI features of the MOSS 2007. WCF services, Workflows, Event Receivers, SharePoint Object Model are just some buzzwords that I’ll be using pretty heavily on that day.
I’ll take a procurement process as an "example landscape" for MOSS and ERP integration – we’ll follow the process from the decision making up to the contract implementation, and we’ll make it so that the managers will never have to leave SharePoint environment to approve the procurements, allocate money and get the managerial reports (those reports with lot of colors and almost no numbers). Even if all the numbers are stored in ERP – nobody is actually going to notice it ๐
So, whoever has some interest in these topics and can use some time at beautiful Croatian coast, see you in Opatija, on Thursday, April 23rd, at noon…
