I usually do not write year reviews. Nobody reads them, anyway – everyone has had a decent portion of tumult in 2013 on her/his own. No need for more of it right now… So let me recap the last year with a Garfield comic, which I have used a year before, as well. Nothing else to add to it, actually…
On another hand, 2014 will be a year of major changes in my professional life. To put it straight – I have a new job.
After three good years in PlanB., for which I am happy and grateful, it was a time to move on. If someone of you has attended SPC Adriatics 2013, she might have noticed an unknown logo on the speaker T-shirts:
Yes, deroso Solutions. A new company, with a long tradition. It’s not a flowery phrase this time, some of the deroso people are well known names in the SharePoint universe since ages now. MVPs, MCMs, and all the other possible M*’s can be found here. An international SharePoint-ninja team, based in Germany, acting globally, looking to deliver top products and solutions to it’s customers. #MeLike
My job, as a Head of Development, will be to organize and coordinate software development activities, to set and enforce the best practices, to make them live throughout everything we make. That will result with software which is cleanly developed, documented and maintainable. Our customers can count with solutions that are rock-solid, durable, easy to operate and govern, and which always tend to bring them extra value. Oh, yes, deroso actually means “developing rock solid solutions”. #NoBullshitAllowed.
This job is giving me an opportunity and power, to actually work on what I know the best, and what I love to do: to combine best practices in software architecture, with Application Lifecycle Management principles and Agile project management methodologies, to develop and deliver better products and solutions. SharePoint, but not only SharePoint. You will see us in all different cloudy and earth worlds.
Another, equally important part of my job, will be to setup and run the product development branch inside deroso. You will still be hearing from us about this topic. #StayTuned
I will of course continue my community activities – please check deroso speaker team at European SharePoint Conference
I will try to write this blog more often – there are more than enough topics… Some turbulent times did prevent me of maintaining this blog more often in the last months, though.
Of course, my private passion, among the SharePoint people also know as “SharePoint and Project Conference Adriatics” will be there this year as well. The overwhelming feedback which we have had from the past two years, oblige us to make the SPC Adriatics even better. Stay tuned for more news about SPC Adriatics 2014, they are coming soon!

And last, but not least, I was reawarded today as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for SharePoint Server. Thanks a lot, Microsoft, it’s a big one, and I am really grateful for this.
Happy new year everyone, and I wish you all some good fights against Mondays!
